I have a 2009 IS250 and noticed that my navigation doesn't dim at night time. I made sure that the instrument cluster brightness isn't at full brightness and that "day mode" under "disp" is not selected. When I turned the instrument cluster at full bright (past the click) and back down again, the navigation screen does go into night mode. However, the next time I restart the car at night, it goes back to day mode. Any idea on what can be wrong?

Also, I did take the center console apart this weekend but double checked all the connections under the center console are snug.

 

Update: I pulled the 7.5 panel fuse to see if it was blown and it wasn't. Also, during the day I covered the sensor and the headlights turned on and the navigation also went into night mode. I thought the problem was fixed, however, when I was leaving work at night, I noticed that the headlights turned on but the navigation remained in day mode. I'm very confused and it's frustrating to drive with the display glaring in my face. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
