Default Trans Question

Alright so I bought an 08 is250 a few months ago and I started to notice that if I get on it and then let off, it will hold that gear and the rpm's will stay up there until the car finally shifts into the next gear or down shifts. It usually holds that gear for 5-10 seconds. And if I start braking before it has shifted the car brakes even harder once it finally does shift. Is this common or should I take it in to get looked at?

I was going to answer your question, but you're so rude I would be shocked if anyone does.

iRock - didn't mean to be rude, just tired of immature remarks. If you could please respond that would be great. Thanks.

I would start off by disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to force the car to re-learn YOUR particular driving style. Also, are you in "normal" or "PWR" mode? In PWR mode, the car will tend to "hang" in the gears longer before shifting.

If that't the case, sounds like what others recently have experienced. Ends up being a solenoid inside of the trans itself.
