Yes, glad you made it out in one piece...could have been worse. If I is totaled, are you going to buy it back and part it out?

A fine question. I'm afraid the buy-back would delay getting me back into a car. I don't have any car loans now--all are paid for! (My favorite kind of car!) It would depend on how much to buy it back. The thought crossed Hubby's mind too.

Insurance companies drive me NUTS!!! MY insurance company had it looked out and mailed a check before they even had a copy of the police report! They deemed it fixable...although they left off some rather important pieces...like the seat belt that was BLOWN!

The other insurance company NEVER contacted ME. By Friday, I finally had enough of driving our land yacht (The Suburban which belongs to our shop) and called THEM. Mind you, they had totaled out their driver's car on Tues or Wed...it was at the SAME body shop mine is at! Hubby went out to the body shop today, and was told that he thinks the other driver's insurance is going to total it! Seriously? Very disappointed.

Hmmmmm, put a couple grand into it, and it'll be back on the road. But, how difficult is it to title a totaled car in OK?

How much cash do they offer if you don't buy back?

$15,800 if no buy back. Body shop said the adjustor stopped adding when he reached $9200, so I really wouldn't come out ahead to buy back and fix it. (Frame is canted to one side but fixable.) In fairness that's $2300 more than we gave for it...but we also did about that in maintenance after purchase.

We bought it w/over 130K and loved it! I can find '06's w/fewer miles w/i that price range, and honestly, by the time we drive it 3 years, it won't matter if it were on '06 or an '07...but finding one w/cashmere interior and NAV in either year has so far been impossible w/o going into debt. I refuse to do that.

With that budget 15,800, you can definitely find a 06 and 07 IS350 around 100k miles or less.

How many miles do you have in your car and how much payment left for the crashed car?

The IS had 142K when they totaled it. We owned it, so we have the whole 15,800 to play with. I suppose the ACTUAL issue is that I won't accept anything but a white one! If I'm going to drive the wheels off it, I have to love it.

I can find several "almost" right. Haven't tried carmax, but have been to the others and carguru which is how we found the last one. It's out there...

Thanks for the encouragement!

hehe, yeah lol i did without knowing

Buy a new one and show off . I can't wait to see your new Lexus. I think you should take the cash option to open more options because your car has 142k miles with a bad title. Good luck, troublemaker

Yep, search national wide, I bought the IS350 all the way from IL and have it shipped to Southern CA. I did not even inspect the car in person, I made the deal and deposit to purchase in less than 1 day all from the phone and checking car fax plus drivers.lexus.com for the maintenance records. The deal was too good to pass so ... haha.
