Default 2007 IS250 Base, $17,500

$17,500 for used 2007 IS250 base? Car has 47k miles on the odometer. Cousin wants to sell it to get a new car since he had a kid recently. It's stock, has no mods, and he's pretty much garaged it and taken care of it. All maintenance has been done and he just recently got the brakes, tires, and rotors done. I've read about the whole carbon build up with the 250's. He said he hasn't experienced any rough idles or any symptoms(yet), nor had he received the CSP letter that Lexus sent out. Car was bought new at end of 2006 so there's about year and half before CSP expires on it.
I know i can go on craigslist and find a used 350 but HP is not a big deal for me and i know how the car has been driven since its my cousin.
Price fair or too high? Is it worth the risk buying it with the carbon buildup issue or am i better off just passing on it? I've been looking to get a newer car (i have 98 civic) and I def like the look of the Gen 2 IS's.

i just bought an 08 is250 with 68k miles fully loaded. nav, bt ect ect. for $16,500. it was in a fender bender and i did spend 500 on brakes n back tires. so 17k for more miles but every option.

i think 17500 is too high. go on autotrader and compare.

Alright, this sounds familiar, and I found your older thread -- I assume that was no deal. Now, your cousin is trying to overprice another car for you. Do your family and relatives like to play hardball with their bros? I don't get this

i also bought a based is250 in the same yr & same price as your. the only different is the mileage. mine is 84k. however, i bought it almost 2 years ago, so the price probably decreased when 3rd gen IS hit the market. i'm in CA by the way.

Sure get it knowing it was wel cared for. That's better than finding out it was in an accident.
