Simple question really, has anyone tried wheels any smaller than 17" in the rear of an 2IS to see if it clear everything without issue? I'd like to get some drag radials with more sidewall than one can fit with 18s, plus the wheels and tires themselves are slight cheaper.

At stock height, im sure you can run 16's no problem in the rear. The 1IS guys run 255/50's all the time with little to no fender work while being lowered and that is wide for them. I would say it would work with little to no issues at all

 

I have 16" Prius replica alloys for my winters on my stock 2011 IS250 AWD. The clearance with the brake calipers is plenty at the back. At the front, they almost come close to the calipers by about 1cm, and they come close to touching the inner stick-on tire weights.

If 16 inch rims can fit the rear of the IS350, perhaps you can pick up a pair of used MKIV Supra NA rims. I believe the rear wheels are 16x9 inch...
