Mold and two tone paint it. That is the best way especially on a White car. You will not regret it, it looks perfect molding. I just did this very recently.
There will be no gap at all. The line connects much more smoothly on the sides and the back. The paint match perfectly with the bumper. If you install with 3M tape without molding, you will see some gaps for sure, the line will not be as smooth, the paint will not match perfectly. If you have a white car, mold it. On a darker color car, install with 3M if you want to save some money since the gap is less noticeable on a darker color.

Yes, 3m should be good enough. I'm doing that for my 2nd blue car. There are some gaps on the left and right side that is very hard to avoid. I mean they are not huge, but is noticeable in a short distance.
