I had mine done last week and I didn't have any of the problems that have been experienced. The dealership were done in a day. I've noticed a 2 mpg decrease, but nothing significant. All my radio presets weren't even reset.

Which sucks because my '08 IS250 occasionally makes a clanking on cold starts for about a second.

Lexus of Orlando did the recall on my 08 is250 with no questions asked. They just have to replicate the noise.

Does this apply in Canada as well? If you could point me to anywhere with Canadian specific info I'd appreciate it (I haven't received anything directly from Lexus Canada as I normally would with recalls). Thanks.

yes it does. You do not need a letter to call up the dealer and book an appointment. As long as you have an IS350 which falls within the VIN range, you can get it done.

If you are close to 100K kms you may also think about getting your spark plugs changed as well since they will be in there already and will charge you less labour. Buy your spark plugs from Sewell for further savings.

Just got my car back from Lexus of Westminster and the car is running smoothly, as expected .

I also noticed I have new coolant. Does the recall require a full coolant flush or just a top off?

Picked up my car the other day, they performed every single recall for my car in about 1 & a half days. I was given a very slow CT200H lool. Very impressed with the service at my Lexus dealership, they took the time to really clean the hard baked brake dust on my wheels & gave my interior a full detail. Car runs great & smooth, no more rattling & fuel consumption has been the same so far, they even helped me swap out a mod free of charge lol.

It's a recall. The dealers will do it regardless of the symptoms being present or not.

Maybe this was already posted but couldn't find an answer for it. I have an 06 IS350 with 43K on it. I'm the 2nd owner after it was purchased at a local dealer. I don't live it the US or Canada, however should the dealer still perform the work free of charge since its an official Lexus recall?

I called the dealer today to ask generally about warranty etc for 2nd hand cars but would like to know if someone has some experience with such a case.

I got the recall paperwork in the mail last Oct. Went to the dealer, who said the parts were on backorder, and that there were numerous people in front of me that requested the recall be completed as well (first come, first served). Here we are in March and no update from the dealer. I'll be calling tomorrow. Anyone else have their dealer give them the run around w/ this recall?

My dealer took two months. They had one tech doing this recall Monday-friday. He only did two cars a day cause of the labor it takes to do. Wasn't the run around but that they only wanted one tech on the job. So if he messed up only he was to blame.
