Default Play Music through Galaxy S4

I searched and couldn't find anything... When I plug an auxiliary cable into the port in my center console and then into my Galaxy S4, no music plays through the stereo. Anyone else have this issue or can recommend a cable that will work? I'm dying listening to the radio. Thanks!

It works for my S3, you have to turn up the volume on the phone. Did you press the AUX/USB button on the center console?

I just tried it again and made sure I pushed the Aux button and no sound. I used to play my Iphone with no problem, but it used a different cable. What cable are you using?

What cable are you guys using that has good sound quality? I used the Kensington cable for my iphone and it worked great, but I don't think they make one not for iphone. I hate just buying one only to find out it plays through 1 speaker or the quality is terrible. Thanks!

If your S4 is like my S3, where the headphone jack is a lil finicky, try moving the cord within the phone and make sure the phone shows that a headphone is connected.

Also when you play music does it at least play through your phone?

Also what year IS do you have, i believe 2010 + it has bluetooth, in my car when i want to listen to pandora i just connect through bluetooth so i dont have to worry about connecting cables

It's an 09' so no bluetooth. Everything on phone works good and music plays just fine through headphones. So it seems like the cable is the issue, but I don't know what cable to get as Amazon has a lot of bad reviews. With that being said the cable works fine in my Type R when plugged into the top of my iphone...weird

My S4 didn't want to work with a cheap eBay cable, so I ended up buying a Monster one from Amazon and it worked. I got the cable for 20 bucks.

A cable is some wires with plastic wrapping on the outside and ends in a stupid plug. Go to monoprice.com and buy a $1 cable, and it will be good.

My friend has the S4 and he had to get a samsung docking cable to play music in his truck. It all plugs in at the bottom charger port and its two cables that come out, USB (to go into the cigarette lighter charger) as well as an AUX for the car. Why does it play like this, I have no idea because headphones work perfectly fine in it. That company IBolt has it but the cable only comes with the whole car mount. Couldn't find it separate

The Galaxy S4 (and the S3 too) support the aptX codec for better sound quality, so he'd be better off buying one of the bluetooth adapters that also supports it, like the Kinivo BTC450, Avantree or StereoClip.

Does the HTC Stereoclip A200 clear our center console allowing normal function of the center console lid?

I've never had one in-hand, but the specs say it's 2.385" long; I can't imagine that's going to fit. You'll need a 3.5mm extension cable, or if you are out-of-warranty with an older IS that never had the ground loop isolator TSIB done, an external ground loop isolator with 3.5mm connectors would do it too.
