Default Radar Detector Remote Install

Hi Guys,

I'm considering on getting an Escort radar detector for my car and planning on doing a hardwire install into my fuse box. I do have a question for the remote that comes with the cord where there is a mute function and 2 color blinkers.

Anyways I found a post on one of the amazon review where where they were able to install it and it looks extremely clean. I am wondering if anyone know how to remove the portion where the coin holder is located between the steering wheel and driver side door?

I've attached a photo for more details. I know the 2011 IS 250 isn't exact the same way as the picture below but I've noticed that there are 2 empty slots next to the coin holder and seems to be the same measurement as the one shown below.

Thanks guys!!

my stereo shop installed the mute button for my radar detector where you're talking about along with my under car puddle lights, headrest monitors, and sound system led's switches and my remote bass **** underneath it. . It's possible but you may need to trim the dash with a dremmel.

Its very easy to remove the panel you're talking about. Might be hard to visualize but first, remove the leftmost panel on the dashboard (the panel that you can only see when the car door is open). Afterwards you can pull down on the lower dash (gently) and it should hang loose. Remove the panel from behind and you're all set
