this is exactly what i was thinking. i would rather run a "risk' of mixing oil vs driving around on low oil.

one route just messes with your state of mind, the other leads to a blown motor

My engine oil light came on this week so I changed it today. Shocked to say that when I drained it, I ended up only draining 6 quarts (.7 quarts low). I'm floored that Lexus programming waits until it's .7 low before it alerts you!

Hope I didn't damage the engine nearly a quart low for the last few months.
