IS250 Accident:( need help
My IS got in a similar accident back in January when a woman driving a pick up truck ran a red light. The repairs will be high, and assuming your car is 09-10 at latest, will be close to the value of the car.
As they say, onto the next one.

I got into a nearly identical accident in 2008 with my A4 (ironically was hit by an IS). The damage came to $14, which was just a tick over the max to save. So I'd suspect a total is going to happen here too. Damage to the suspension and engine craddle/mounts is what pushed it over. No airbags deployed.
Main thing is that you are alright and the car did it's job.

Glad you are alright. It definitely looks totaled to me as well. I'd sure hope so at least, there's gotta be frame damage with that kind of an impact. I'd really hope they don't fix that car, if they did...I certainly would not want it back.
So basically what's going onus my insurance company said the car is repairable by physically looking at it. The car is now in the bodyshop waiting to be stripped down and be estimated for a second time. The insurance company quoted 8k and waiting on body shops quote.
Any suggestions or advice on what can happen next?

Make friends with the guys at the body shop and beg them to tell the insurance company what they need to hear to total the car out. I would NOT want that car back, their job is to repair the car back to pre-accident condition and I highly doubt they'd be able to do that. I would be absolutely shocked if there was no unibody damage from the looks of it.
btw, what insurance company do you have?

So I went to go see the car after it had been stripped down. What I was told was the insurance company only looks at the physical damage nothing to do with the wheel assembly or the unibody. The only damage I saw was a few dents into the unibody some looked pretty harsh. I got pics for you guys and would appreciate any feedback you guys have.
Thanks for all your guys help

If there are any hints of frame damage at all, fight for a total.
Frame damage DOES NOT constitute an insurance company totalling a car, it's about dollar amount. If the initial damage estimate does not exceed 75% (for my insurance company at least), they will repair the car, as they'd rather spend 75%, than 100%.
I had a convertible that was rear ended and buckled, yet the insurance company did not total it out, ensuring me that the car would be repaired to pre-accident condition. The car never drove the same again.
When I went to trade it in, many dealerships checked under the car for "clamp marks" (from clamps they use to straighten out the frame) and either offered a lessened amount, or refused the car altogether.

yup total loss is still possible
its up to the shop the car is at to give a detailed quote on getting the car back to normal
but yeah once suspension and all other unseen damages have been noted and itemized , the insurance company should act accordingly
then again I will fight for a total loss you pay so much premiums for them to short change you

Remember the body shop doesn't want a total they want the money to fix your car. Hidden damage found after the fix is started means money in the body shops pocket. If it is close to total % push for a more detailed inspection.
