Debating if I should tint my headlights.

 

Is it legal in NY? If you do don't go too dark. What color is your car. Ive seen professionally painted smoky headlights and tails. They look great.

Black out the headlight housing instead

 

I never understood how people see at night when they tint their headlights... same thing with tinting the tail lights, I hate driving behind people who tint it so dark you can barely see any brake lights at night or in the rain.

2nd how dark and or what color?

I have seen yellow tint kind of like in racing but I dont know if its legal in your state. If you tint it black or smoke you might as well just black out the chrome if you have a 2010 and below.

 

I agree with Bob, blacking out the housing of the head lights is a far better choice than tinting the head lights in my opinion. Not a big fan of tinting head lights or tail lights. I've seen people tint their fog lights "yellow" or various other colors and that looks OK.

Better question is if it is legal in the state where you reside. Also how much is it going to cost?
