My IS was squealing under the hood when the a/c was on. I pulled the pulley off and replaced the a/c pulley baring. Put it all back together and no squealing for a few hours. Now the squealing starts when the car is in gear without the a/c on. With the the a/c on it squeals louder. Does anyone know what else could be causing the squealing? I never had the squealing noise until after I took my car to Lexus for the TSB to have the pistons and rings replaced. While they had it they also replaced the timing belt. The squealing started the day after I got the car back. I live 120 miles from the Lexus dealership. I recorded the car making the squealing noise and emailed it to the dealership. Of course they said I would have to bring it back in and since I couldn't prove I didn't have this noise prior to bringing it in for the TSB work I would be responsible for paying to fixing the squealing. My car has 140,000 miles and is out of warranty and I really don't want to take it back to them. They had my car in the shop for 5 weeks to fix the TSB. Not to mention I would expect better service from Lexus on this squealing issue since I've never brought it in prior to the TSB for squealing. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
