Have you tried popping out the plastic cover over the keyhole on your driver or passenger side door?
You should be able to open it with the key part of your keyfob.
ximd said this in an earlier thread: There is a slot underneath the cover. Stick the key in there and gently pry it up. The cover should snap out easily. The manual goes over this.

when my car battery died, the key fob wouldnt work and i had to manualy unlock it with the key. what was odd though, cause i had no clue what was going on, was that it seemed like the car armed itself all the lights, except the head lights, would briefly flash.
dont mean to hijack ur thread, anyone know what kind of battery the keyfob uses? and is it easy to replace? i cant figure out how to open the thing
I can't remember the name of the type of battery but its super easy to do yourself. Just take out the key from the remote and then in the middle, you'll see a crease that you put the tip of the key in. Just put the key in that crease and push out separating the two pieces... Don't worry, at first you'll feel like you might break it but you won't
and to the OP, once you get in, place the remote next to the start button so its touching it and you'll see the light come on and you'll be able to start it.
However, I'm sure you've done something about it by now
You can get them off eBay for really cheap. I recommend finding a seller that is selling the Energizer ones, had no issues with using them in my remotes. I think I paid less than $5 shipped for 3 of them on eBay.
you can also find the Energizer CR1632 battery at your local Home Depot, usually located near the cash registers where all the batteries a located. That's where I get them all the time.
Thank u guys for the responses!! I got into the car manually n placed the key next to the start button. Now everything is back to normal. I'm gonna replace the remote battery tomorrow.
