Clear coat peeling on rims!
Hello Everyone,
I have a 13 IS250 F-Sport. I noticed the clear coat on my passenger side rim started to peel (Dark Superchrome finished alloy wheels). I'm also aware that once the peeling start, it will continue to peel over time. My question is, would this be covered under basic warranty?
I know this maybe minor for most folks, but I just got the car .
I just purchased the car little less than 2 weeks. Furthermore, I have not got it wash yet, went over pothole nor it had rain for possible negligence.
Any advice/information would be very appreciated.
- Thanks

Thanks for the replies!
So as it sounds, this is something that dealerships may do as a complementary for customers and it is not backed by the warranty?
I'm so frustrated
Just sent an email to the dealership. Another problem is, if in fact the dealer do grant to either fix or replace, the dealership is far (60miles). Do I have to go to the same dealer that I bought the car from or can I simply take it to a local?
Thanks in advance.

I would go to the same dealer that you purchased from to show them you have a particular interest in seeing how they treat their customers that are willing to drive a distance because you only want "them" (the dealership) to touch your vehicle.... this may win them over in your favor and get your problem taken care of..... Let us know how this goes...

@ Laobo979, Can you take it to any dealership? If so, how long did it take?
Thanks to those taking the time to read my concerns and posting! I find this place more active than MyIS.
-Props.
I hope to do an introduction soon.
PS: How do you create a signature? I wasn't able to see in the CP.
-Thanks

If you plan on getting the car serviced at the local dealer then go there and start developing a relationship. If you have any problems then send photos to the dealership where you bought the car. See what they say before running over. If they say bring it in and you will get a loaner then you are golden. I do my best to only have Lexus (one dealer) work on my car. When there is a problem it helps when you can tell your service advisor that nobody has touched the car other than them. This way they know you are loyal, they know they made money off you and they don't want their reputation hurt so they will go the extra mile to make you happy. Because the car is new you are stressed but this is a small item not worth sweating over.

I've already sent an email to the dealership and awaiting on reply. In the meantime, I will contact the local dealership tomorrow to see what they can do for me.
Well noted on sticking to the same dealership. I personally would do the same. However, the car is spankin new and for me to drive that far (120 mi total) back and forth during a break-in is what I was afraid of. I currently have 135 mi on the car.
I hope to hear some good news tomorrow. I will update on how it turns out.
