Congrats on the new car and welcome to the CL IS Community!

First off, love the color choice. One of my favorites. To answer your question, the price of lowering your car depends on how low you want to go and if you want springs or coil overs. Coil overs run roughly between $800-$1K new. You will be paying more than $1K for the higher end coil overs. Advantage of coil overs is that you can adjust the height anytime you want and it comes with shocks.

With springs, you are at a set height depending on what type of springs you end up purchasing and you will be re-using your stock shocks for the time being. Springs are relatively cheaper and run roughly $200-$400 for a set.

I know members who have purchased springs have regretted not getting coil overs in the first place because they wanted to go lower or did not enjoy the ride of the IS that much with the particular springs they had purchased, etc.

As for me, personally I purchased some Tein H-Tech springs for my DD and I was perfectly happy with the drop. However, I recently picked up some rims and now the drop is not what I would like it to be. So I'll be saving up $$$ for a nice set of coil overs in the near future.

In the end, the choice is yours. Good luck on the mods. Enjoy the IS.

Thank you Adam, the problem is that the LED alone would be at least $2.5k , the lowering another few$$ trying to decide if it's best to hold on those money and trade for a IS350 later on the road. I loved the one I test drove but had many miles and was a 2006.
