There's more to the Toyota/Lexus button than just a simple switch. It has some smart key doo-dads going on as well. The LFA doesn't use smart key, so even if its switch fit (it doesn't), it still wouldn't work (functionally speaking).

Because it was a 10 year project, which is why it has a physical key. By the time the time it came to fruition, it was to late to change the key/start system
