There will be a color difference if you only change 1 bulb. Bulbs change color over time, so your newer bulb will never be the same color as your older bulb even if they are rated at the same kelvin

Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess the first step is to swap the bulbs from left to right and see if it happens and then go from there. After I started this thread, the bulb hasn't gone out hahaha figures. I guess we'll know then, if its just the bulb, I will follow some of the suggestions and go with a 5000k xenon depot D4S.

Just to confirm the 5000k doesn't look aftermarket at all right? I don't want it to look aftermarket at all.

So after I posted this thread, the passenger side headlight issue stopped happening. Hasn't happened for like a week now.

If it does happen again, I'm going to immediately just buy new bulbs for both sides and go with that. My question is if I buy the 5000k XenonDepot D4S bulbs, will it make my headlights look aftermarket? I don't want to look blue at all.

There might be a very tiny difference in color since the stock is 4300k but it definitely will NOT give you the aftermarket look .

I had the same issue on my car. I have the 5000k from xenon and they look awesome. I just bought the new 5000k fog LEDs that match 100%. Go with these you will like them here is a pic of the lights

I know in general, pics cause the headlights to look more blue but in that picture, that looks so aftermarket blue to me. Is it just the picture? Is it significantly bluer than the OEM bulbs?

5000k is usually white, but that looks really blue, like 8000k

MY D4S 5000k from Xenon Depot don't look as blue in person as it does in that picture. I have 5000k foglights from HID Extra and the D4S from XD look pure white next to those fogs.

I have a similar issue... sorry to hijack the thread but I thought this was better than starting a new thread... I noticed my drivers side headlight was out, when I turn my lights on the light will turn on for half a second then turn off. It does that everytime I turn the lights off/on, but never stays on.

I have an 06 with HID, I have just under 40k on my car and it seems really early for them to be going out. I will try swapping the bulbs this weekend when I have time, but has anyone else had this exact issue?

Thanks

its your bulb. replace them and you wont have that problem, my situation was exactly the same as most described in this thread, and yes if you just replace one bulb you will notice a huge color difference between the two. i tried just replacing 1 and when i installed the new bulb it made the old one look like a halogen no joke.
