square wheel or tire setup for IS250
Hello fellow CL members!
Background: 6+ years Auto-X & HPDE experience, usually run in advanced or instructor groups, older driver. Interested in a fun daily setup - think BMW or FR-S / BRZ
The car right now:
2007 IS250 RWD / auto / stock wheels / Falken FK452 @ 225/40/18 front & 255/40/18 rear
Right now I'm trying to balance the handling of my IS250 without switching to another car, which I am unable to do right now.
I am looking at the possibility of doing a square wheel or tire setup on my IS250. The goal is to make the car more fun & tossable - similar to an FR-S / BRZ type setup. An LSD will probably follow if this works out the way I want it to. Yes, I know the car is heavy.
The wheels wouldn't necessarily have to be the same front to rear. As long as the tires where fairly close in size or grip, I think it would liven things up a little.
I'm not sure if there are OEM wheels from another make or model that would fit (Nissan / Infiniti / Honda / Acura), or if something as simple as running different tires would help, but I'm open to helpful suggestions.
I would respectfully like to keep this free of opinions as to whether this is what you agree with, and stay focused on actual solutions. Links to other threads are OK - I've searched, but didn't come up with much. That being said, I've had a lot of positive input from the members here, even if I don't get to frequent the forums as often as I'd like!
Mods, feel free to move to another forum if deemed appropriate.
