DIY: Red-out Tail Lights (Orange Turning Signal)
Whats up fellas,
Since im pretty hands on with all my cars, ill be posting DIY's as i go doing them. This specific project was a very simple, yet needed mod.
HOW TO REMOVE / COVER THE ORANGE/AMBER TAIL LIGHT TURNING SIGNAL
Items you will need:
• Red vinyl tint (i bought mine on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-12-LEXUS-...443248&vxp=mtr )
• Windex
• Cleaning Cloth
• Credit Card Wrapped in Paper Towels (home-made way)
• Bottle Sprayer (1 cup of water - 1 t-spoon of dish soap)
STEPS
Step 1:
Clean your tail lights very good. Specifically the orange section you will be covering.
Step 2:
Once the tail lights are clean and dry, un-peal one of the big tail light red stickers. On the back of it (the sticky part) spray it completely with the soapy water. What this does is allows you to then place the sticker on the tail light and move it around until the place you need it to stay.
Step 3:
Place the soapy sticker on the tail light section, and move it around until its in the correct place.
Step 4:
Use the Paper towel-wrapped credit card to squeegy the soapy water from behind the sticker. Once most visible water is removed, let it dry for a bit (about 30 minutes) then repeat the steps with the smaller trips that come with the sticker package. This will take care of the sides that are still left undone.
Step 5:
Once they are all added and covered, repeat on the other side and let dry.
Step 6:
Clean with windex once fully dry.....and swag.
Here are some pictures of what the products look like, and the final products.
