knocking noise coming from the rear

Default knocking noise coming from the rear

Does any one know why does my 2008 Lexus is 250awd making some strainge knocking noise from the rear when i go over bumps it sounds like something is loose but i checked i couldnt see anything loose, dealer told me its probly a sway bar, but i dont want to change something if im not sure thats it how do i check or does any one know what can it be?

Your end links might be shot you can't notice it till they come off..the end bolt will have hella play like a dam joy stick if they're shot

It could be the sway bars, but I've recently had to replace both front struts and one rear shock due to the noise. All three failed at less than 70k miles.

I got the same issue, but mine is usually when i enter a parking lot, especially when the slope is high. Been meaning to have it checked out.

Betcha a dollar that it's your sway bar bushings having rotted out. You should be able to crawl under and look to see if that's the case.

I have a 2010 350 with the same thing. Doesn't happen all the time. And sometimes it's more of a clicking sound rather than a clunking.

It almost sounds as if you were tapping the brake rotor shield with a screwdriver. But I've taken the wheels off and there's nothing loose in there. I'm thinking it has to be a bushing.
