I have about 12K on my Hankook V 12's. When they first put them on and I drove the car I thought they had put on all season tires since the ride was much improved over the OE. Handling on fast cornering does not feel quite as tight but was still worth the change. But I had an '06 BMW 325 with Summer run flats before and those were painful on any bump (but the handling was incredible!)
Hankook V12, although I got a set of 4 new tires back in October, and just over the weekend got a nail in the sidewall after the rain we've been having in SoCal.
i just bought a pair of Hankook V12 Ventus V12 for my rear (staggered). they are pretty well reviewed on Tirerack. anyone got any experience with these?
I had these before, you won't get that much miles out of them. Mine wore down to 4/32 after 20k miles. Handling is ok but very slippery on wet. I won't buy them again though.

i think 20k is already the average life span for low profile tires doesn't matter which brand. i had the Ventus V12 on my Evo X before and i didn't notice any slippery at all in wet condition and i drive hard, maybe that was the Evo X's AWD working
If anyone needs decent tires on a budget, Falken Azenis PT-722 are good too. I was skeptical when I bought them, but they are great so far. I'll probably post up a review thread on them after 5k miles or so if I remember lol. They handle great on dry road and they handled great in the rain too!
I went from sumitomo HTR ZIII to hankooks. I could break loose in the sumitomo very easily, but the hankooks have been able hold traction a lot better.
I would recommend hankooks for someone on a budget. My next set of tires will probably be the PSS
When I was changing tired about 1 year ago I asked the questions too. I ended up going for Michelin PS A/S plus from costco. Good tread rating with good performance. Perfect for street driving.
If you want more performance, Hankook V12 is usually a good pick. Half price of Michelin PS2 with similar performance.
I would assume the snow/ice that comes with cold weather would be the concern.
Without going deep into the details- the cold "hardens" the tire compound.
Below 35 and moisture on the ground summer tires can be dangerous
Below 35 and dry you still won't want to push them hard through a corner or anything due to this, but you'll be fine to drive conservatively
I drive my V12s year round and never have an issue, but then it's almost never below 35 during daylight hours here, and we rarely get any (sticking) snow at all. On the occasional night it's under 35 but dry and I'm driving I've never had a problem as long as I slowed down when cornering and such.
