Laser jammers are illegal in CA, escort radar 9500ix and v1 will detect laser but by the time your radar detected the laser shot by officer that will be too late .

Almost all cops are using laser these days. The best laser jammers are the laser interceptors. They are pricey but well worth it. After spending nearly $2k in tickets and fines over the last year I bought the laser interceptor duals, valentine one, and a dashcam that shows my speed/1080p video.

V1 is simply the best because of the "boogey counter" and the arrows. Let me give you an example. Going on the parkway doing 85 mph......get a alert on the V1 I start slowing down, the back arrow is lit, now if I had a normal radar like the 9500 or RX65 I would have thought the cop is ahead and not slowed down fast enough. After slowing down to 65 mph, the cop flew by me and pulled over the guy that was in front of me who was still doing a solid 85 mph. The rear arrow comes in handy many times.

Here is the link to the laser jammer. http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/901.html

By illegal you need to be caught to be found that you have an illegal jammer. But from what I understand, when a cop tries to target you with a laser gun, the interceptor/jammer will fire back a higher frequency which makes it so that the cops gun gives no feedback as to how fast you are going... Doesn't this make it obvious that you have a jammer....

I'm sure the Escort 9500 is a great radar detector...based on my experience with a 8500. I've got a Escort Redline now, Im VERY please with. Surprized no one has chamied in on that one yet...

I used to have the Escort 8500 and it was great. Right now I use the Escort 9500ci and I love it. It's expensive though and I wouldn't pony up the $1,500 or whatever they are charging for it now. I was lucky and got a very good deal on mine.

Best in the market is either V1 or 9500IX. I had V1 prior to 9500IX. Both are very good but I noticed that they both have trouble picking up laser. Quite a lot of CHP are switching their KA radar to laser and it seems like it is a lot harder to pick up. When it does pick it up, it is usually too late. (that goes for any radar detector if the police uses instant on)

Radar detector is illegal in NY? Wow, he searched your car? Did he have a warrant? I would never consent to any searches.

As long as i know it's not illigal but radar jammers are illigal in any state (if i am not mistaking), it all depends in what kind of situation you are, when you in middle of highway 200 miles away from home with pregnant wife in the car it's better not to argue with them.

How would an illegal laser jammer possibly be useful? If a cop is trying to get a reading on you and he can't, his first inclination is "this guy probably has a laser jammer" and he's almost certainly going to pull you over.

Yes, the fact that an officer can't get a laser reading on your car does constitute probable cause for him to pull you over and search your vehicle.

Laser jammers make absolutely no sense.
