The new GS, ES and LS all have individual monitors. I'm hoping the 3IS has it too

"half *** system"

check your tires. fill them up. lights go off. with winter approaching in areas of the country, if its gotten cold, all your tires could possibly be low.

If the tpms light is on, that means one or more tires are low on pressure. So that means you need to get some air, easy fix bro. Unless the tpms is either damaged or running low on battery, then you will need to buy new tpms.

Because the weather here in SC has dropped 20 degrees in one day, you will notice the TPMS probably go off for the drop in tire PSI (mine did a few weeks ago). Fill back up to nominal levels and it'll reset itself.

Monitor and fill tires with air weekly as winter approaches and temps take sudden drops. My wife's IS did it few weeks ago and the light hasn't come back on yet.

I keep filling mine and the light has yet to go off. I am going by to get a better air gauge on the way home to try again. It just got super cold in less than 24 hours here on the east coast.

try fill your tires with Nitrogen (costco has them) that will help solve your problem.

if that still doesnt work, you might need to reset your TPMS.

Why waste money fooling around with Nitrogen, our cars are not F1 machines. Just use a good quality gauge and fill to spec. DONE.

I wasn't knocking you bud, just stating the obvious. I know plenty of women that knows to check and fill their tires up with air themselves when the tire pressure light comes on. They do sell tire pressure gauges at autozone, advance autoparts, pepboys, walmart whatever for a earth shattering $1. It would literally take you less than a minute to walk around to each tire. Some air filling stations even have electronic gauges now.It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you just fill up your tires for the tire pressure light to go away. The time you spent creating this thread to knock on Lexus "half a** system" you could have solved the problem already. If you are still leaking air then take your car to a discount tire, firestone, or any local tire store to check and see if you ran over a nail or something. Problem solved

Actually at Costco it's free, so it isn't a problem. I use to have nitrogen at Costco for the 99 Toyota Solara Camry I had since I got the tires from them.

I'm not sure if they would do it for my IS since I did not get the tires from them; they may not do it.
-------------------------

Usually it's a good time to check all 4 when the light goes off.

I did that with mine, when it was winter and the light went off (one tire did lose a bit of pressure but not of concern, just checked and refilled up all 4 and reset the monitor). It would be nice if it did have individual alerts to alert the particular tire but it doesn't bother me. My previous cars never had had TPMS so I couldn't complain.

if youre tire warning light is flashing, then that means theres an error in the system.

but if it turns on and stays on without flashing, then yes its just low air pressure. simple to add air, but best done when the tires are cold.

this was useful, thanks. I just wasn't sure if there was a process to turning that light off. and yes in my opinion I think it's crap Lexus doesn't show you each wheels tire pressure. just to many other cars that do it
