Default Center console trim help..

How would you get the chrome shift gate out of the wood trim? Also if i were to buy the new hyper silver trim kit from Sewell for $635, i know the window switches have to be rewired, any DIY for that? and does the new trim come with the chrome shift gate and gear select designations? Can't get a clear answer after a few days of searching.

Not sure about the window switch, but I know if you remove the center console trim you should see underneath where the chrome trim is melted onto the console. Remove the chrome moulds and it should come away.

There should be some information on it if you search for the threads re carbon/3M wrapping your trim.

No "re-wiring" of the switches is required. The switches are released by carefully moving tabs and then pop right into the new switch bezels. Also, the chrome trim should be part of the new center console bezel.

Switch bezels are different. I have seen differently and know i have to rewire. Who has actually changed to newer pieces?

If your car is not a MY2009+, then the driver's side switches will not fit the hyper silver trim kit.

The driver's side switches have a different layout. I have a 2011 and it's a pain because I see good stuff for 2008 and it won't fit my car.

mikellucci's 2006-2008 switches

brociouz's 2009+ switches

As you can see there is a major difference. Even if you do get the switches to fit the trim, the wire harnesses are different and it'll require work for it to function.

My bad. I thought you were just changing trim "colors", not different years. Good luck with trying to rewire old switches and harnesses to new.
