There are several factors that they take into consideration in determining if a car is totaled. Some of these include the obvious: cost of parts and labor, the age and value of the car, but also how much is owed on the car loan.

Thanks guys for the response. I am waiting
For a call back from the adjuster. All rims have to be replaced as they were scratched and I think those run kind of high. Thank goodness for Gap insurance if they do total it out.

thatll be totaled. they almost totaled my is350 and it looks like it had way less damage than that. 10k for rear end damage that didnt even affect the trunk or anything. just bumper, internals and the exhaust was bent.

Sorry, but I highly doubt your car will be totalled. New doors, fixed rear qtr, new rear bumper cover, new wheel?, new side skirt, new mirror. <$10k I'd say...unless there is actual B-pillar damage or damage not seen from the pictures.

GL!

That seems like enough damage to warrant a write off.

So adjuster said 8600.00 to fix and they are using a used/recycled door and taking all rims to repair shop to have them welded instead of new ones. Should I be okay with this? What are yalls thoughts?

As a general rule, always insist on new parts after an accident. Also get a few estimates from different shops that are certified and recommended by insurance companies.

Not all insurance companies will give you new oem parts. If you read the fine print they don't always have to. One thing though is on newer cars there may not be after market parts yet so new it is. I pay about $40 a year extra for OEM parts only this includes the windshield too.
