Default Lexy left me stranded on I75

5 hours away from home and on my way to Key West for my birthday vacation, my 06 IS350 decided to lose all throttle response. After what I thought may have been some sort of tranny problem, Lexus of West Kendall replaced both fuel pumps and stole $1,500 bucks from me and had me back on my way. I know, I know...I should have shopped around or contacted some SOFLA CL members but I didnt have the time. I had my wife with me and I told to tow truck driver to get me as far south as he could and to a Lexus dealership. Other than the huge chunk of change I had to shell out, the experience wasnt too bad. Yea, I missed one night of my vaca but after waking up the next morning after being stranded, I walked into the dealership, explained my issue, was given a loaner and told that I could have it for my entire vacation, and sent on my way in less than an hour. Shout out to Saul at Lexus of West Kendall. You turned a sour situation into something that made me happy to own a Lexus.

Fuel pumps? As in two in-tank or one in-tank and one in-line? I've got a '06 350 and hoping this doesn't happen to me. Do they have to drop the tank?

That sounds crazy expensive. Where are these fuel pumps located?

Like I said, I was driving and the car quit moving. Didnt lose power or anything but the gas petal stopped working. After coasting down from 80, I pulled over and it lost power when I stopped. When I tried to start it twice, it sounded like it had no gas. It just wouldnt turn over...

Yea thats what I said. But I had no choice. And 1500 is WITH the military discount he gave me.

I have no idea where the pumps are located.

Interesting. There's only one fuel pump and it's in-tank. I'd be surprised if it can even be replaced by itself. I'd almost think it would be easier to replace the whole tank. They probably replaced the injector assemblies.
