yes I do, I run a online business 7 days out of the week and I also have a part time evening job I goto 5 days out of the week that helps me pay for blue painters tape to protect my car on road trips from bugs, rocks, and tires flying off trucks

Just here to help with what I've learned through other members and through trial and error.

I noticed that you have a thin layer of painters tape, judging because I can see the black coming from underneath the tape, does it matter if you put more than one layer or is one layer more than enough?

OP, great work with the taping, I've seen good taping before, but this is even better!

What does taping have anything to do with owning a Lexus? Of course a tire will mess up ANY car. This is to protect from bugs and rock chips. People talk so much crap. Maybe you want to drive your own car and Not rent one. $130 is pretty cheap though. But you're going for a week and don't know how many miles you're traveling. You do what you want to do! It's your car!
The vertical tape on the hood didn't even budge it worked out great, however the bumper didn't like vertical tape. Next time I will do only vertical on the hood and only horizontal on bumper and lip.

When i took the tape off there was a nasty amount of bug guts and sand and dirt stuck to the tape. Definitely worth 2 hrs of my time and a few bucks for the tape, people do give you stupid looks though, i guess some people weren't taught not to stare lol. I made almost 1600 miles in the end.

Also, i put on a set of hankook ventus v12 for the trip. Driving up and down the winding roads of the Smokys was a blast, i really got to test out the car/tires on the trip. That was one of the reasons I didn't want a rental, and i averaged 29 mpg for the trip

FYI, i overlapped each piece of tape, half way over the previous piece. That is why you are seeing darker spots on the tape. It won't protect against a major rock hit either way, but it did help against bugs and road grime.
