Default Selling to non-lexus dealership while in lease ?

Is this possible?

I have about 1 year left on my lease. Will need to get rid of car in the following month or so to move to NYC.

Local Lexus dealership offered me $500 below the buy-out price. So id come out of pocket $500, however, will have to go through the trouble of selling aftermarket parts. (Figure my buyout price is 24.5k, they will CPO and sell for 28k - aftermarket is tinted windows, springs, HIDs and wheels).

Is it possible to go to a non-lexus dealership to get a quote? Preferably high enough to put it towards the LFS (Lexus Financial Services) buyout price (24.5), while pocketing the difference. This way, I am rewarded for the aftermarket parts. Or will they quickly realize what my LFS buyout price is and not pay me a cent more - which would actually be preferred, seeing as it would be $500 more than lexus, and i wouldnt have to pay $100 to swap tires, and $200 to swap springs.

How does this work? Would a third party dealership match my LFS buyout price, or possible exceed it? Or is that not even feasible for them to do, based on the lease contract. Any advice?

Thanks.

Or you could sell to CL members, what type of rims? Any other mods besides the ones mentioned?

Yes, you can sell to a non-lexus dealer. It works the same way, you'd just take what they give you towards what your buy out amount is. I considered that a long time ago when i didnt think i was going to keep the car, but have since bought and modded the hell out of my car... haha

Good luck. ($500 below your buyout isnt bad either. How long do you have left in your lease/what is your estimated cost at lease end for mileage/damages/etc?)

Just curious, why not take it to NYC? Or have it delivered there? Otherwise I'd be happy with not having to pay anything with the buy out, which I did when I had my Corolla paid off by the Lexus dealer, they worked it out so I would only have to pay $200.00.

Any dealer can do this, but be very careful, there have been cases in which the dealer will take your car, but never pay off the balance on your lease, leaving you with a big bill and no car.

I don't think the non-lexus dealer will give you more than the buy out price for you to pocket. They will call the Lexus dealer and ask for the buy out price. They will then give you an offer around that price, but no more.

???

pay 2,000 to deliver, and 600/mo in nyc parking, and 200/mo in insurance, plus lease payments...to keep a car for another year, in which it would never be driven?
