It's screwed onto the bumper. Your best bet is to remove the bumper. You can try to unbolt the right side and reach in but you'll risk cracking the paint pulling it, plus you'll be half way to removing the bumper already so might as well if you know how.

Yep, that rear bumper is gonna have to come off.

I miss the days when a simple screw could remove a fog light, reflector, side marker, etc

indeed! I could disassemble my entire 97 honda accord with one screwdriver it seems... there's probably more screws in your computer than in older cars haha

Yep! My 98 Prelude - the rear side markers and the fogs and front turn signals were all easily removed with a screwdriver

So many other things too were so simple to remove!

This is their way of keeping the dealers busy with add on services (i.e. not covered under warranty work). You wouldn't believe how many clueless customers just drop their cars off at the dealer, get a ride to work, get picked up at the end of the day, pay the service bill and drive home. Very few questions asked, and never about the "cost vs real time" factor.

The Sewell guide on installing rear GFX kit shows how to remove the rear bumper at the start. Its really simple to do, did it yesterday
