That's a pretty decent deal. I bought my used 2011 IS350 F Sport with ~6000 mile for $38000 with $1000 incentive but keep in mind that I bought mine when Japan was still recovering from the tsunami so dealers were harder to negotiate. You might be able to knock off at least $500 more or so. I'm from Cali as well.

It does sound like a good deal; but too good to be true? Inspect the hell outta that thing to ensure they're not covering up a previous accident.

Default You can prolly get a nice certified one from Lexus

for about $23-24K. That would be a better option in my opinion.

I'd be nervous the car has been in an accident and repaired/repainted. Go over every panel inside and out, looking for rough paint, overspray, waviness, or misaligned panels. Also check the door jams for a white film between the nooks and crannies. White dust or film is a sign it's been in a body shop and repainted.

+1 Or I would get an older model and save my money. Sell it down the road when the new model comes out

If you can wait, just wait for for the 3rd Generation to come out and get a daily driver or beater for now. If you can't, give the car a full inspection inside and out with your mechanic friend. Have him test drive it as well. Does the car have a clean report? Sounds like a really good deal. Because its a good deal, might be others in the market looking at the same car. Hopefully its still at the dealership when you return. Good luck.
