Some wheels for now... don't want to roll stock

Don't have funds for the gold VSXX I want, so until then. I just wanted something to roll on for time being. Got these from Zoeb at WheelDude. Gold Rota MXR 18x9.5 +20 all around mounted on stock Bridgestone 225 and 255. Car is still on F-sport springs, still deciding on what I can get away with without coils as I may go air in the future. Car is dirty and pic is iphone. Will take more as I do more mods. Front stick out about an inch and rear is pretty flush.

MikeZ103 03-20-12 06:25 PM

Are you sure you're on F-Sport springs? It seems a little high....maybe sport suspension?

Heckler 03-20-12 06:38 PM

2012 F-Sport is a fine ride my friend and I love the UB.

I am thinking I like the stock rollers better but I understand the need to personalize your ride. Did you have the F-Sport springs added at purchase? It does seem a little high for the F-sport Springs.

iRock 03-20-12 06:42 PM

Who are the flowers for and and why did you buy rims where the front sticks out? You like that?

juvi22003 03-20-12 07:23 PM

That car look pretty high to be on springs.....i would have saved up and wait rather than waste my money on those wheels u know ur not gonna keep

heyarms 03-20-12 07:28 PM

If that's on f-sport springs, what'd it look like before them!? :uh:

I have to agree with Heckler

RastaRacer 03-20-12 07:56 PM

I like the color combo. Now slam that bish.

Nellyhx 03-20-12 08:16 PM

He probably meant Spings from his "F-Sport"... which aren't as low as the F-Sport Springs that normally aren't included with the F-sport models

Sffd103 03-20-12 08:29 PM

you live in SF!!! Gotta lower it NOW!

bewithabob 03-20-12 08:30 PM

Those are very nice!

boostftw 03-20-12 08:31 PM

looks good, reminds me of my old STi.

laobo979 03-20-12 08:35 PM

As long as there just temp wheels :eek2:

robertrios 03-20-12 08:42 PM

yea those are def not fsport springs thats just sport suspenion im on fsport and thats night and day

dangy 03-20-12 08:56 PM

I like stocks better.....

llamaboiz 03-20-12 09:07 PM

I understand the need to personalize~ your rain visors/rims~ i just wish that you waited a bit to build up the warchest~ but as long as you're happy then i'm happy for you.

rookieIS 03-20-12 10:28 PM

oh no not Rotas... no offense, but i'd rather save the money for some better wheels

mjh09e 03-21-12 12:46 AM

I'm in to it. Whats wrong with the wheels?

ASPLS430 03-21-12 04:54 AM

To each their own.. there were many other choices in that budget range. This is a newer Rota wheel that hasn't been done on many cars and I like the look. Always liked gold on blue, did the same with LMs on a BMW before. I was wondering the same on the springs, my sales guy insisted they were F-sport springs but the color is wrong. I might have to go with either Teins or F-sport as Im rubbing at this height. I think the front sticking out a bit is fine, tire is a little stretched. Nice 19s and tires will run me a good 4k at least and I park outside. Car isnt even at 1000 miles yet. Id prob change in a few months depending how biz is haha

DarthGS350 03-21-12 05:54 AM

I think it looks good.

Changed to these wheels, too much rubbing issues on the +20s and dont want to spend all that money on cambering front and rear. Lowered on H-techs, this pic is right out of shop before it settled. Added yellow HIDs in fogs as well.

MoarLow 04-11-12 01:05 PM

not feeling them

Vroomin350 04-11-12 01:27 PM

this thread is a roller coaster :p

I actually like the first set, the color combo was on the money.

This new set isnt too shabby either, I would look up how to plasti dip your front grille, would make it look 100x better IMO

juvi22003 04-11-12 01:30 PM

Not feeling the first nor second set....but i think the gold actually goes better with ur color car

ASPLS430 04-11-12 01:35 PM

I like the gold too, but the offset was rubbing like crazy and I cant put more than 2 people in the car or it just shreds the hell out of the tires. I will probably get some VSXX gold 19s near the end of the year when my bonus comes in. Black/grey matte wheels pretty much goes with every color.

I have the Carson black pearl front grill surround on order.

BE715 04-11-12 01:36 PM

better than the first set of rims you posted IMO!

Individual 04-11-12 01:42 PM

Both sets look good, but would look a lot better lowered, whenever you're ready for that. You just need to add some tire shine!

its lowered on h-techs, i know most people like 2" plus drop or coils but I regularly have more than 3 people in the car plus I deal with slopes and pot holes in San Francisco daily so dont really want it that low. Ive had cars with bags and coils before, slammed to the max etc but as I get older I tend to forget how low I am and make a mess of lips and bumpers lol

Silver10 04-11-12 03:26 PM

Im diggin the subby blue and gold but the lc818's fit a bit better and your plate? Is roco a XXX star or is your car a roxy contin? haha props bro

SCWB 04-11-12 06:48 PM

I like the second set more. Just put no the center cap.

In my humble opinion though, if you want to stay 18", then stay with stock F-Sport wheels. They are the best looking 18" wheel on the IS, in my opinion.

Rikg35 04-11-12 07:48 PM

Should have rolled stock instead, that imo looks like crap.

JoshIS408 04-11-12 07:52 PM

Looks okay. With the amount of money you spent on the rotas, tein H tech springs, and the next set of wheels, you probably could have gotten decent coilovers, and or a used set of VSXX......The H tech springs are probably about the same amount of drop as the F-sport ones.

Lowered on stocks > Not lowered / 1" drop with cast wheels

To each their own. Good luck with your build :)

TTechLexus 04-11-12 07:54 PM

Some of you are harsh! I like it.

istundra 04-11-12 08:28 PM

i like this most recent setup with h-tech.

Sffd103 04-11-12 08:34 PM

the black looks better cause they are bigger looking wheels. I wish it was lower but I know SF streets and people inside don't mix.

iRyan 04-11-12 08:37 PM

If I had to choose...I would pick the first set...

Alias 04-11-12 08:40 PM

I like the second set up, just wish it was lower. But keep it up!

JEFFOS69 04-11-12 08:49 PM

I think they look good - just need to lower it more

Slammer1 04-11-12 09:03 PM

Not loving the gold wheels on a blue car.... As for the springs, I am running the F Sport springs and sit lower than that. Drop that car, and go with a better wheel and it will be sex! Car looks good, just gotta tweek the look.
