In the mean time, would care to explain where and what controls the '06-'10 drl system? I don't want to wire the '11 leds to be on using the stalk in the parking light or on position. My idea is to use relays so the leds come on when the ebrake is disengaded with the car in the "ON" position (like how stock does). If I can understand the drl system better and how it ties in with the high beam, maybe I can simplify the mod. This bean network is ridiculous..

Jeff's IS didn't come with the led headlights so his stock drl is the high beam bulb. He switched his stock headlights to the led ones and now have two drl's working at once. He is trying to turn off his stock drl but the option appears to have been removed.

im pretty sure you can turn them off, maybe its not called DRL.
it was also posted in one of the 2011 LED headlight thread about the procedure to turn them off from a techstream. i have the 2011 headlights as well and the dealership turned the DRL off without any issues.
good luck!

Yes, I've disabled them on older IS models before, but this was the first time I've tried to do it on a 2011+.
It could also be a Canadian thing, DRL's are required by law up here, and I see the part number for the body ECU is different for Canada-spec.
Hmm..

Jeff i have an 11' with the halogens and i had the dealer disable the DRLs when i picked up the car so it probably is a Canada requirement !

I think the best way to fix the issue is to get a front controller ECU from a car with LED DRL, but it's going to cost me.
In any case, I'm not really in a rush to fix it, I am going to work on another way to disable DRL. It's quite clear to me now that it cannot be disabled via software.
