Curious how it'd work in an M/T car.

This mod does not seem like it is worth $1,000 and the flashing oil temp light would drive me crazy.

It's plug & play..

You will get a flashing oil temp bar.. Not really a big deal..

Also, your miles will be way off.. And never match again since the ECM is inside the gauge cluster itself.!!

I have to differ, that means it does not fully work. Plug and play would mean 100% functional.

I thought you can program the mileage to match the old cluster? ... Or no?

Cool mod but not worth the $ and effort involved IMO. Especially when in the end you have a flashing oil light and the miles will be wrong.

Umm... Last I checked "Plug & Play" means you can do this swap with out any other additional modifications..

The reason the oil temp bar flashes is because the regular IS does not display oil temp digitally like the F..

So In my opinion it works they only way it can..!!

Technically a dealership can order a new gauge cluster for you... But the only way they can order it with the exact pre-programmed miles, is if your car is in for service and it doesn't move an inch...

Otherwise I think it comes at ZERO

If it did not have the exact miles it would kill your resale value.

I'm thinking of PnP in terms of computers. Without modifications and also assumes where the device being installed on also supports it.

meangene IMed me early this morning. Apparently the IS does not have an additional sensor which the IS-F has which can read the oil temp digitally.

At the time I thought there was speculation one could find someplace to tap and install this sensor to enable that on the display... anyone know if anything came of that?
