I got my 08 250 with navi and 26,000 miles for 25k...that car isn't worth nearly as much as 25k

FYI about why I ask, I'm going through a diminished value claim w/ insurance company. Need ammunition to fight against their low-balled number.
I'm confused, is the car the OP's considering yours? Or are you just asking more in general what impact an accident would have on a car's value?

If it's the former, for this particular car, I would have to first get details (receipts, photos, police reports) of both accidents and have the car inspected by a Lexus dealership where they'd also have to take off both front and rear bumpers to inspect for frame damage, all at seller's expense. Assuming damage wasn't severe enough and repairs weren't done in a way to put warranty coverage in question, I'd probably pay $18-19k.

This particular car is just absurdly-priced to begin with. As I stated above, you can find identical cars with no accident damage (many that are CERTIFIED) for the same or lower prices. And keep in mind that even if you negotiate a great price on this, plan on keeping it because you're going to have to go through the same headaches on the other side when you try and sell a car with 2 accidents.

If it's the latter and you're just asking in general what impact an accident would have on resale value, it would depend on tons of factors - year, model, mileage, but most of all nature of the accident, records of it, and quality of repairs.

i think its way overpriced especially since its been in 2 accidents, you can definitely get something cheaper with about the same miles on it

No, my car is not OP's car of interest. I understand it depends on many factors, but I'm just looking for a range of depreciation that a buyer is comfortable paying for a car with accidents. My car is rear-ended and cost of fixing is around $10K.

Sorry OP, not trying to steal your thread

Mileage is decent, but the 2 accidents literally killed it. Move along.

I bought my IS350 from a private seller. Accident free, 07 IS350 w/ sports package, navi, etc, 27k miles, SGM, like two dings on the entire car for 24.5k. You can do waaaaay better. :P
