They arent...Plus Lexus would not use the spark plugs I bought from ClubLexus...Now I got the 60k package from clublexus but cannot use it at Leuxs lol...Would Toyota do the same 60k maintenance with the package I bought?

I would assume so. But that is using the same logic that says ________ Lexus (Dealership) would take Genuine OEM parts and install them for you.

I have gotten prices for the 60K from 1100 (with a discount coupon!) to 1300 from local Lexus dealers in the SF Bay Area. I am thinking of taking it to my local shop in Berkeley who does my oil changes and did my 3 year service at less than 1/2 the price of local Lexus dealers. Does changing out the plugs requires some Lexus "expertise"?. I have read on the forums that it is somewhat more involved and I haven't changed plugs myself in 2 decades so am willing to pay for it but not the exorbitant Lexus fees. The rest of the 60K service seems minimal since staggered tires can't be rotated and I did the cabin filter myself in 10 minutes.

Well he basically said that Lexus policy is to not use outside parts but only their own in house parts...So why even argue with a manager when he stated that is Lexus policy...I wish I would have known before I bought the package. But Im hoping Toyota is not as strict in their policy as Lexus...If anyone has gotten lexus to install the 60k package that you bought from ClubLexus let me know! Im still 9k away from 60k so their is time.

$650 is much better than the quote i recently got at lexus of $884 for 60k service... Also, by doing the spark plugs with the recall he said it would cost $180, while doing the spark plugs on a regular service would costs $212..Not much of a savings there so I opted out since they wouldn't use the spark plugs I got from Sewell...Are there any car service chains that are worth bringing it to do the 60k service that use parts you bring to them?

Initial_K: How so? The Lexus adviser clearly said its Lexus Policy (not their particular dealership policy) that does not allow them to use parts outside of their own dealership. I also had spark plugs from sewell.

Even my independent mechanic quoted me 750to 800 for 60K service. Local Lexus dealers want between 1100 and 1275! Of the 750 for local guy about 550 is for the plugs with the parts because he estimates high on the labor. One of local Lexus dealers will do plugs for 635 so I may have them do that and have the local guy do oil, filter, brake fluid and air filter for about 130. No time to do that myself.
If I need the carbon engine repair done at a later date I don't want Lexus to say the somewhat involved spark plug install steps were not done correctly. The inspections listed are pretty minor and I can do myself. Brake pads only have 30K on them so I am not even measuring them again.
Good idea from one of the previous posters to just price out items separately and not let dealer milk you on the 6 year/60K service.

Maybe I'm stuck back in the 70's or 80's but I can't even begin to wrap my head around these outrageous dealership prices!!! I for one will MAKE the time to change my own oil, filters and spark plugs myself. Brake fluid flush will go to a trusted garage. Maybe its just me, but I don't trust dealerships work and don't let them touch my cars unless absolutely necessary. Regarding warranty compliance, I keep receipts and keep accurate maintenance records. Kudo's to the one who posted the step by step spark plug change as I will be using it. I'm not knocking anyone who does use the dealership , just knocking the prices they charge! Totally ridiculous!
