Default HID Headlight/Fog light.

Im looking to get me some HID Headlight and Fog light for my 2011 IS250. Thinking of getting me the 6k. I already have stock HID's and was wondering if 6k is much of a difference from that or is 8k better ? As for the foglights im looking to get a deep yellow one.

This is what I was gonna get. Any good ?

A lot of our vendors here sells HID kits less expensive that those and you will be supporting CL. I have a picture of my previously installed Garax 6000k HID bulbs with 3000k HID foglights. I got tired of the bluish hue and put my stocks back on. Keep in mind I did lose quite a bit of visibility due to decreased lumen output as you go up in Kelvin. Still brighter than halogens though. If or when my stock bulbs die, I will be getting the Philips Ultinon 6000k bulbs. Pricey but others have said they blow the Garax and other 6000k bulbs away in brightness.

LostS0ck - Since your Lexus has a factory installed HID system you will need D4S bulbs for the low beams and and H11 HID kit for the fog lights.

If you want to go with 6000k I would recommend going with 6000k D4S Philips Ultinon bulbs for your low beams. We carry genuine, German made Philips HID bulbs which will be a direct replacement for your existing bulbs.

For your Fog Lights you will need an H11 HID kit and I would either recommend the Volt HID kit or the Xtreme HID kit in 6000k. Use coupon code "CL" upon checkout to save $25 off either HID kit.

We also sell Xtreme D4S HID bulbs which are available in 6000k. Club Lexus members get $20 off the price of these bulbs with the CLGB08 coupon code.

8000k will be more blue in color whereas 6000k will be crisp white with a hint of blue. Yes you will lose usable light output the higher you go in color temperature (K). I would personally not recommend going above 6000k.

6k HID on left and OEM HID on right

When you say "better", do you mean light output? ...because if so, the 8000k is out of the picture. OEM chooses 4300k because that's optimum light output that best matches natural daylight. As mentioned above, I wouldn't go higher than 6k.

I forgot to mention that another popular seller on this board is our D4S 5000k HID bulbs:

Notice that the light output is still white however it has a slightly "cooler" tone than the stock 4k bulbs.

Again, ClubLexus members get a $20 discount per bulb by using coupon code CLGB08
