Red face How not to use blue tooth at times?

Hi, hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season.
Just got a quick question (Yes, I did advanced search and no luck)
I've been enjoying automatic blue tooth function in my IS.
Then today I noticed that my phone always automatically connects to IS and whenever I make or receive a call, it goes through car speakers.
I was trying to have a private conversation since my kids in the backseat were making screeching noise but have no idea how to do it.
Maybe I can just disconnect the blue tooth but is there any simple way to disable blue tooth?
Or better yet, keeping the blue tooth connected but making conversation only through the phone - not though the car speakers/mic?

Thanks!

pluging in a set of ear phones to your phone works i think. give it a try.

On the iphone during a phone call, a menu called "Audio Source" will let you switch between, "phone" "speaker" and "handsfree"

I had the exact same dilemma. I wanted to connect my hands free bluetooth ear phone but was unable to do so since the phone always automatically connects to my car .

The only solution I found to this temporarily is to switch off the bluetooth on your phone , so you'll be attending your calls the old-school way. This is the only solution I found for a private/safe conversation.

If you have navigation, just pressing the "transfer" button on the nav screen transfers the call back to the handset.

I personally would just use a headset I like my privacy when talking and driving, too

Hmm good point here but I think still turning off the bluetooth on the phone is better rather than fiddling with the nav screen after getting the call.

when your phone rings, answer the call from your phone not the steering wheel button or the nav screen and the call will not connect to bluetooth.

problem solved.

On my Android I have to press a single button on the "call in progress" screen to turn BlueTooth on/off. Can do it in the middle of conversation so it's convenient.

I already tried this and even when I answer a call from my cell phone, after a few seconds it automatically transfers to bluetooth car speakers, hence I posted this thread.

lol I would dare to use blueooth if I have 'someone' It's just my kids in the backseat that I can't control the volume or mute during phone calls.

I didn't notice the "transfer" button on my nav. I will check and try today see if works.

I didn't think about this. My Samsung Galaxy S phone has this little Bluetooth button at the top and I guess I can simply tab it to turn BT off. Great idea!

Thanks all for great suggestions.
All you guys and gals have another beautiful day with IS.
And have a wonderful and safe New Year!

It is, unless you do the secrete menu override it opens up.

I have to shutoff my phones bluetooth or do the over ride to transfer mine
