A little more specific, are you lowered and if so how much? Stock wheels? What size are your wheels? I take it your car is AWD and you can do a 235 no problem, but 245-255 would be intense for the fronts.

On a rear wheel drive, you can easily run 245's in the rear, but the front would rub, as 1sicklexus stated. There's an inside suspension piece that sits about 1/4 inch from the side of the front tire/wheel, it prevents you from going much wider (but you can go a bit taller) larger than what you already have.

Can you run a 265 or 275 tire on the rear comfortably, assuming its an aftermarket 9.5" wheel?

staggered oem 18's = 225/40-18 + 255/40-18

non-staggered oem 18's = 235/40/18

offsets will need to be in the high 30's to low 40's.
