Default VSC - Limp mode

Hi guys, before I bring my car into stealership I want to know more about the problem I had yesterday.

I was driving home when all of a sudden engine light came on and VSC lite up in the info screen.

The car while still drivable would not go faster than 60km/hr

I pulled over called the dealer who told me to get it towed into their shop, but they did not have a loaner for me available.

I said ok and hung up, before I called the towing, I started up my car and the engine light was off and nothing on the warning screen.

I proceeded to drive home without any problems, and drove to work this morning without any problems.

The only thing I noticed yesterday but not this morning was a quick clicking sound when starting it up.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Should I continue to drive it until it happens again or bring it into the dealership?

Thanks

I am just scared that it is no longer under warranty, I have read here about a TSB for the cam which throws the VSC code.

I am hoping to find out if it is still covered as my 5 year warranty expired last year and I have 90k KM about 55k mile on it right now. I believe that the drive train warranty 6 years 100km but need to verify it

Powertrain warranty is 6 years/70k miles so you should be fine on that, and whatever issue it is it will likely be powertrain-related. Take it to a dealer immediately.

We can't offer any help without knowing what codes came up. You would need to either check the codes yourself with a $40 OBDII scanner, or take it to an Autozone or similar shop and have them read the CEL codes. Hundreds of things can cause what you describe above, and the codes tell you what it was.
