urgent help needed rpm jumping
Hi everyone,
I have a 2006 is250 with 67k, recently, when the car is stopped in D ( at a light) the rpm will jump to 1500 and then back down. Several times, the car physically jumped a little. This does not happen every time, mostly before the engine is up to speed. Otherwise the car seems to run fine. I have also had a couple of hard starts. I had Lexus look at it over night, they did an top engine cleaning, and could not find anything else, but it is still showing the same symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this and could point me towards the right direction to try to get this solved.
Thank you,
Victor

well I can't tell you what your car is doing but the top engine flush is for the 250'S that have carbon build up. They show signs of rough idling and "sputtering" at stoplights. Even turning off completely and all the dash lights on. This doesn't sound like your cars problem. Good luck finding out what your problem is.

"top engine flush is for the 250'S that have carbon build up"
is that something you can do yourself or a dealer only thing?
The dealer does it. You have to tell them the symptoms and it has to be under the 70K warranty. they flush it...let it run for an hour and flush it again.
FutureITR,
Yes this only happens when the engine is cold. I have been told is cold be the throttle positioning sensor. Do you know if Lexus will replace this under their engine warranty?
thanks
