Correct, friend. Only RookieIS was. So I was trying to show how the lower octane cost "savings" is offset by the lower mpg, so it is really shifting the cost, and not a true savings.

I only use Chevron and Shell. They both state they add additives to the gas mix to help reduce carbon buildup. No other gas companies I've seen do this so until they do I'll be sticking with Chevron and Shell.

As previously mentioned if the .10-.20 cents a tank to go from Arco to Chevron is strapping your wallet then you are probably driving the wrong car.

I work in oil and gas service industry. They (chevron, shell, etc.) all use the same fluid additive from one of my company's branches.

Always use 91 octane or above.
