Wow @ some of the responses...and I thought I washed my car often. I wash it once a month, and my family complains that I baby it and wash it too often. Good for you guys! I can't possibly find the time to wash it any more often than once a month

Cleaned mine 3 days in a row after getting it. 4 hours a day. Claybar, wax 3 times, clean and condition leather, spend 30 mins on each wheel.

Once a week which includes cleaning the interior and at least twice a month for waxing.

Default Drive through Car wash bad?

I have no place to wash my car by hand so I take it through the drive through car wash. Is it bad for the paint? Alot of places say handwash but its really hand dry and drive through wash. What's your opnion?

unless its a touch free car wash your creating swirls in the paint. I use the touch free as a last resort for instance after being on the highway...however in general i tend to avoid it because the re-cycle water and some of the chemicals are harsh on plastic peices like your rim center caps.

Once a week is normal, sometimes it streches to 2 weeks if the weather is crappy or im too busy. Thats only hand wash its never seen an automatic car wash.

The one's where its drive through wash and hand dry aren't as bad. The only thing you gotta worry about there is your wheels on the rails going through the car wash, and then how clean the towel is that they are using to dry your car. If its dirty, they are just rubbing in the dirt = swirls/fine scratches.

The ones that are fully automated and the brushes contact your vehicle are the worst. They leave swirl marks/fine scratches at high speed during the cleaning, and you gotta worry about your wheels again too.
