Default 2007 IS350 Chrome Wheels Chipping

I have a 2007 IS350 with 10 Spoke Chrome Wheels. The chrome is chipping off and I have no idea what to do. Will it rust? If so then what would the cost difference be if I re-chromed them (is that possible??) or got all 4 new wheels? The picture was after a guy back into me, but you can see what the wheel looks like on the left (Doesn't show chipping).

Contact a local dealership, and if they don't give a flip time to contact the Corp offices. GL!

Chrome Lexus wheels don't come from the factory chromed like that, the chrome is an aftermarket add on at the dealer level. They are covered by the warranty so if you are still under warranty take it back to the dealer. Otherwise you are probably out of luck.

Actually the aftermarket chrome would be treated like any aftermarket part. Because the factory wheels were altered, they are no longer covered under the Lexus warranty.

The dealership who ordered the wheels to be chromed should honor it as an in-house warranty.

One thing you could do is call Lexus Corporate and ask them to mail you a copy of the window sticker on the car (if they can't, they'll read off the options to you; that's what the rep did for me). If it was loaded onto the boat with chrome wheels from the factory it will be listed on the window sticker - my IS had chrome wheels and the rep noted they were installed from the factory for a lot of dough. If there's no sign of it on the window sticker, then no doubt its a dealer-affiliated add-on.
