Default DIY Steering Wheels Replacement

Hey guys, Im thinking of getting a flat bottom steering wheel. I cant find any DIYs for this. I have put a steering dampener in. Is there one for this? Is it hard?

The DIY video looks pretty simple, just takes a lot of time.

Just be careful not to rotate the steering wheel cable spindle after removing the wheel. It has to be in the original, neutral position.

So, what if it accidently spins. How do you know where the neutral position is?

^ There's a little orange tab that has to be lined up a certain way. Take note of its position.

Oh, ok thanks. I actually swapped my wheel already.I just taped it down so it wouldn't spin. I was just curious where the neutral position is.

Just make sure the steering column stays in the neutral position (i.e. keep it in the exact position it was in after removing the steering wheel, DO NOT SPIN IT).

If it does move you can turn it lightly until there is slight tension, then go back the other way counting the spins, divide that in half (say it turns 7 times, half is 3.5) then turn it back that number of times and that's the middle. It takes a little effort to break the cable but its not hard to do either. Best to make absolutely certain it doesn't move.
