Default Interior/Exterior Protection

Just bought my new Lexus last Friday and I have a question. When I was signing the papers they tried to upsell me on a bunch of stuff. One was an interior/exterior protection package. Where they apply something to the outside and inside that seals everything and supposedly keeps it clean and shiny. Has anyone purchased this. Is it worth it?

Generally the answer is no, but it's hard to tell without knowing who the providers are. My perception is that the dealerships always try to up-sell these services @ a huge markup, but if you google the products you'll find that they are either overpriced or there are far better (and usually cheaper) options.

Good luck!

More marketing junk that the dealer tries to sell you... like the Permaplate bs that protects your paint. It's a rip off in my opinion.

First thing on your agenda would be getting clear bra. This stuff will offer way better protection than Permaplate crap.

If you really want to keep you car clean and shiny, check out the Detail Forum for some great tips.

Basically, comes down to wash and wax on the exterior. Clean and protect with leather protectant and use 303 for plastic/wood trim.
