I can understand it not being "very" noticable but what I don't understand is not hearing a difference at all... and its not just me I had one of my friends try it out and he pointed out the same thing. I'm going to take it to the dealer this weekend and have them look into it.

I had the dealer "check" mine too. I was told that the lexus tech took my car out with a computer hooked up to it and said it was working fine. Yet I did the highway thing, was at 70mph, windows down and turn the ASL off and nothing happened. My ASL bars don't even move! I am going to be calling Lexus before I go to the dealer for this to file a complaint, so maybe I have some more pressure on the dealer to fix it this time!

I checked my Lexus IS250 tech service manual on how to troubleshoot the ASL issue. The tech is supposed to check the speedometer to unsure that is funstion right since the ASL is speed related. Then he is supposed to check the amp in the trunk considering that amps up the sound based on the speed. Funny how my service advisor told me they hooked up my car to a computer and drove around and said the ASL was working correctly. Lazy bastards. I think I'll bring the lexus tech shop manual and open it up in front of him and go trough it. Last time I did that with my 99 rx300 and my car was fixed quick. funny!

I turned mine off because I did not want the audio quality to change. It appears that even thou if the indicator shows nothing even thou the ASL is on, I can hear a very subtle difference in the sound quality as if it does not sound as dimensional (terminology) as compared to ASF off.
