Default Alpine MRP-M500

Hey CL, I am ready to put a sub in and I am looking at the Alpine MRP-M500 to run a JL 12w3v3. Anybody running this amp? My biggest concern is not having a bass remote. Because I am leaving everything else stock (for now), I am worried I will need a remote to turn the gain up or down to match the music, hip hop vs. rock for instance. I have seen that there are universal remotes, but that would mean I would have to run a set of RCA's up to the front then back to the trunk again, seems like such a pain, and a path for noise to enter. My other option JL XD600/1 but it is twice as much.

Any thoughts?

I have a JL Audio 12W6 powered by a JL Audio 500/1(that I'm going to sell). It didn't come with a bass know and is was fine. I ended up adding a bass remote and is a nice feature to have. Hope this helps a bit.

I ended up getting the alpine because it was open-box never installed at best buy, plus I had $30 in reward zone certs, so it was $150 I couldn't resist. I will install tomorrow with my 12 type-r from my escape to test it out I will post a write-up on the install.
