I've had my ddm tuning hid kit installed for 11 months now without a single issue. Definitely recommended.

just bought the volt 6000k kit for my low beam and fog from xenondepot.com. Use the code CL to get 25 off per kit.

Gots money to blow....

Order three kits from DDM.. Only had a problem with 1 bulb which they mailed out a replacement for yesterday, free of charge...

It's not confirmed but whenever people have had their power steering ECU fail, it's because they've had aftermarket HIDs. seeing as how the ballast is installed right beside power steering ECU, it could just come down to electromagnetic interference.

the xenondepot kit for sure has an EMI filter. gives me peace of mind. the xtreme kit is really good, but if you don't need a relay, the volt kit is good too. but myself, i would wire a relay. not to mention steve's customer service is second to none.

seeing as how ddmtuning is getting out of the HID market, i don't know how their lifetime warranty will be handled.

Honestly, the cost of HIDs have gone down over the last several years; buying something just because it's more expensive without knowledge of the differences between the two products is stupid.

People love to chime in and say "you get what you pay for", but that's not always the case, especially with aftermarket parts.

JetFire mentioned lifetime warranty from some companies such as DDMTuning, I would look into those types of products if you're worried about longevity.

Also, if you're looking to save money; just install them yourself. It's not hard at all, most kits are plug and play.

Good luck!

This really is my number one consideration. Time is money for me. I rather pay extra if I know I'm either not going to have any problems down the road, or if I do, they can be handled efficiently.

Agreed! The last time I was looking for HIDs for a Civic back in... 2002? they were like $500 for the kit. But it's just a little "concerning" that two cheap halogen bulbs at the local autoparts store is $20. Ehh....

I don't completely agree. For many items, a "Lifetime Warranty" _to me_ is like a mail-in rebate. It entices more people to buy, increasing volume, increasing revenue. The cost to replace defective items that fall within the warranty terms is less than the increase amount of sales. I think this is more true for resellers than manufacturers.

I'm with you. Not having the hassle of sending a product back may be worth more than having to constantly get it fixed, even with lifetime warranty. If anyone else could chime in on where they got their HIDs, how long they've had them, and how much they paid; I'm sure it might help the OP if he's still tossing around a decision.

the 30 dollar ones from DDM tuning are amazing apparently.

In my research I have not seen anyone complain about them......and if you see my post count vs my time here, you can see I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to "Stuff"

On my old car i had two different HID kits...

My low beams were a 6000k XenonDepot kit. Had them on the car for 2 years till i sold them, and they were still going. No issues ever.

My fogs were a 3000k DDM tuning kit. Had them for about 6 months only, but never had an issue with them either.

i think both make good HID kits, and with the price of a DDM tuning kit, and the lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong.

i bought me some xenondepot volt's 6k beginning of fall, and i love them. Never had a problem with them. I was concerned that water was going to get inside the headlight housing but it held up really well during the rain with the rubber grommet they provide you with. If you are going to install yourself remember to switch polarity at the headlight.

This is the headlight when it gets turned on...looks a bit bluish..

This is after it warms up.

Hope this helps.

I've been using a DDM kit since 06 and that is coming up to 5 years soon. No problems whatsoever. I've also been using a 55w kit for my retrofit that I got for 50 bucks and it has been going strong for 2 years already.

Rza8gamma, those look really good. Are those 6000k?

Tchan, I'm guessing those are your HIDs in your sig...what color temp is that? Looks real clear as well.
