Even if you cut/roll your rear fenders, you are still going to rub. WHY?

With +22 offset and 275 tires (square setup) on the rear, you remain at +22

The rear fenders on the IS (fully rolled/cut) is around +25mm. So in order to get a flush setup (Im assuming that's what you are trying to accomplish), you have to calculate your tires (not the rim) to sit at +25. So with 255 tires on 9.5" rim, she will sit perfectl (I'm guessing around +26), and no rubbing.

As far as the front fenders, at +22 it is A MUST to change the tires to 215. Then heat the outer fender liner and remove the tab...and you're good to go.

Good luck!

EDIT: With 255 tiress on 9.5 rims, you will have slight stretch but still safe to drive. And you want that stretch in order to reduce your wheel offset by 6-7mm.

LOL.
heres my non polluting advise so you dont cry, from my experience, for every good mod you do something will go wrong. just deal with it or give up modding.

you have 4 pages of people telling you to either roll/pull your fenders or get skinnier tires and you still dont know what to do. dude get a clue

your friend the cool guy

with all the color commentary and OT stuff out of the way...

to the OP, if it's money that you're that concerned about, i'll tell you right now that it won't cost you more than $250 to fix your issues.

you can get your fenders rolled for $100. the guy i went to out in colton? $80. there are also other people/shops in socal that do a good job w/ fender rolling that may or may not charge you an arm or a leg.

after you get your fenders rolled, use the rest and pick up a set of cheap-o/used tires and pay to get them mounted. i've already thrown my offer out there, but this is not a "buy from me" post (i don't care who you buy it from, but at least you get your issues resolved). spend a few minutes to look on ebay or craigslist and you'll definitely find someone selling a set of used tires in a size that will NOT create clearance issues.

there's been more than enough advice in previous posts, and i've even gone a step further to help break down the costs for you and how you can resolve your clearance issues.

it's either:

- you get fender work done and stretch narrower tires to create clearance, or...

- you can continue to run your curret set-up and hope... no, make that PRAY... that the rubbing doesn't cause long-term issues.

whatever your decision is, best of luck.

In the interim, be careful going up driveways or anything steep. Or this could happen to you too: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-on-coils.html

I ran a 215/35 on my 9.5 and a 235/35 on my 10.5, crazy stretches.
For you I'd run 245/35 to be stretched and safe on the 9.5, and 225/35 on 8.5 to be safe.

This is a picture of my car this morning. I took the volks of temporarily and am back on stocks. I plan on getting my fenders rolled and maybe shaved by albert. My fronts with the 225/35 aren't a problem, so I will leave them alone, but will still roll it for the insurance of more space. I went to city tire in southgate, and they said a 255/30 would be better then a 245/35. What do you guys think?

Thanks! Read above about my fronts. Best advice as far as the rear is concerned!

Thx, breaking it down put it in a better perspective. But, its gonna be tough finding 255/30's

I don't think I'm low enough up front for this to happen, but then again, I thought I wasn't too low to rub AS MUCH as I did, but I think a roll should take care of that for me. Thanks!

Have you ever experienced any of the "dangers" of stretching?

Thats been answered a few times. Again, I have way to many things to prioritize spending more money on tires with in 2 months.

^ yes. that's to preserve the oem rolling diameter.

and yes, 255/35-19's will fit in the rear (ask Mv350 how i know), but you will need to roll your fenders.

very, very unlikely.

you may run into issues w/ the rear fender tabs, but that is if you plan to go lower. at your ride height (w/ H&R springs), you may not have to. i'd plan for it, though, just to be damn near certain.

you've got a plan now. all you need to do is follow through with it.

keep us updated.
